The rate at which companies pay corporation tax. The rate varies depending on the size of the company. A small company for tax purposes pays corporation tax, currently 21%. A small company for tax purposes is defined as a company with taxable profits of £300,000 or less. The normal rate of corporation tax is currently 31% and is paid by companies with taxable profits of £1.5 million or more.
